Fat+Happy: Hatha Yoga (6 week series)

Yoga can sometimes feel intimidating or even competitive. When we live in a big body, there can be pressure to “get it right” or squeeze our body into shapes that don’t work for us. F**k that! All bodies are good bodies and we use the practice to celebrate this fact!

In this six week series we will honour the trial and error that comes with finding what feels right in YOUR body. With modifications designed for larger bodies, you will experience this strength and stretching practice in a whole new way.

Class recordings are provided for one week

Whether you identify as fat, full bodied, plus-sized or big bodied, please know that you deserve to find joy and freedom in movement and to feel good in your amazing body. Coming to a class that is designed specifically with you in mind is a great place to start!

FAT+HAPPY YOGA PLUS WEEKLY DEEP DIVE AND BOOK CLUB: Want to take your practice even further? Yeah you do! Each week, you will receive an email from me including a deep dive on our class themes, additional journaling prompts, and encouragement and inspo for your yoga and body journey.

Plus! A fat positive book club!! We'll read our book over six weeks and then have a live Zoom meeting at the end where we'll meet and chat about how we felt and what we learned. This offering is for you if you want to bring more fat positivity into your life and need further encouragement and support on your fat positive journey. It's also a chance to discuss, support and share with this lovely community!

Our book for November/December is "You Just Need to Lose Weight" : and 19 Other Myths About Fat People by Aubrey Gordon and our book club will meet online on Sunday December 14 at 10:30am PST.

This six week online yoga series focuses on taking up space. When you live in a big body, you spend so much time being told to shrink and this class is the antidote! Most poses take place in a seated or reclined position and we hold for a longer period to encourage deep stretching and release.

This fat positive class is the best way to wake up! Yin yoga deeply stretches and gently wakes us up, and then we follow it with flowing Hatha to light us up for the day ahead. Coupled with intention setting and body positive reminders, you'll be skipping into your day feeling connected to yourself and your amazing body!

Join Helen for two hours to decompress, breathe and explore boundaries and balance this holiday season! We'll enjoy candlelight Yin Yoga & Meditation, followed by journaling and a discussion of how to maintain love, respect and kindness for ourselves and our bodies during this busy time of year.

Join the fat and happy book club where we'll spend six weeks reading our book, you'll receive a weekly themed email with a deep dive topic inspired by the book, action items to help you feel excellent in your body, and journaling prompts to help you get to know yourself better.
